The project

This combination of consistent messaging and flexible design makes it a powerful, highly-recognised and long-lasting identity for the city of Nottingham.

Strong adjectives – ‘safe’, ‘clean’, ‘proud’ and ‘ambitious’ (all lifted directly from extensive research with both residents and council workers) – sit at the centre of every communication.

Twelve identifiers (like headline styles, arrows and cut-off corners) are mixed in various degrees to project a friendly, accessible and straight-talking image of Nottingham City Council.

Project highlight

Briefing and review of creative is now much more streamlined and many basic elements have been templated. So it now takes much less time to communicate a consistent message. And finally, people are now much more aware of the full range of services which the City Council deliver.
