Every Child Matters
In 2003, after the death of Victoria Climbié, the Government published a Green Paper called Every Child Matters (ECM). It laid the way for the Children’s Act 2004 and later in 2007, a ten-year strategy called The Children’s Plan, designed to make England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up. Today, the ECM programme and its five key goals are a key consideration for parents and a wide range of professionals working with children across the country – including one of our most high-profile clients, the National College for School Leadership (NCSL). NCSL provide training, support, learning materials and development opportunities to educational leaders across the UK. |
To help promote their range of Every Child Matters publications, resources and programmes, NCSL asked us to write and design a crystal-clear prospectus and promotional mailer that would appeal to school leaders and help them navigate the vast array of support materials available to them.
Both pieces have been printed on heavy, uncoated paper and peppered with circles of UV spot-varnish, designed to represent the many spheres of individuals who come together to make the ECM agenda work. The mailer (and with it, the information it contains) unfolds logically into a cross format which places the eight ‘leadership levers’ for achieving ECM outcomes at the centre of four images of happy, contented children of all ages: again, a visual representation of the nature of the Every Child Matters agenda. |
